The Department of Mechanical Engineering is one of the five departments in Christu Jyothi Institute of Technology and Science functioning under Warangal Diocese society.
The Department was started in the year 1998 with an approved intake of 60 students.
The Department has excellent infrastructure facilities with well qualified faculty and non teaching staff members.
Department of Mechanical Engineering has invented AIR CAR in the year 2009 and an article was published in India Today National Magazine with the title Running on empty and THE WEEK centre pages also.
National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has accredited the department.
The department has strong research expertise in various fields of engineering; most of the faculty have registered for their Ph.D., degree and also undergoing various training programs such as Faculty Development Programs (FDP), Workshops conducted by leading Institution such as IITs, NITs, and JNTUH University so as to keep themselves updated
Research articles are being published by the faculty members regularly in International Journals, National Journals, International Conferences and National Conferences.
Outreach program, Industrial Guest Lectures, National Level Technical Symposium like (Mechzeal), National/International (ICARIMMIEM-2014)
Conferences are regularly being organized by the department for the benefit of the faculty, staff and students
To keep the students competitive in the job market the department conducts non-formal courses(Value Added Courses-HVAC,Ansys,3D Printing Technology,) in the area that are not covered under the syllabus, especially on latest software with the assistance of expert agencies.
The untiring efforts of the department level and college level training and placement team have resulted in a sizaled number of students being placed in leading multinational and National firms(SHAR,ISRO,NTPC) both in software and Hardware area.
An entrepreneur development cell is feeding knowledge to develop confidence to turn students into employers (Entrepreneurs/Owners).
Higher education cell is also functioning in the department to enhance the students to write exams GRE, TOEFL, IELTS, GATE and Singapore, UK, USA, Germany, Canada etc.
The SAE and ISTE Student Chapter/Faculty Chapter/Institutional Member from 2005 is conducting various programs for Mechanical students/Faculty in order to enhance learning and career development.
